The first month: a move-in sequence

1. Order internet as early as possible. It has the longest lead time of anything on the list.
2. Decide where the network lives. One small wall rack or cabinet for the modem, firewall (the device that controls traffic between the office and the internet), and switch, with a battery backup beneath it.
3. Cable for fixed devices. Desks, printers, phones, and access points work best on wired connections. Wi-Fi is for laptops and phones.
4. Set up accounts before computers. Business email, shared files, and multi-factor authentication (a second sign-in step) should be ready so each new computer is simply signed in.
5. Write down what exists. Provider account numbers, equipment logins, and a simple network diagram belong in a password manager, not in one person’s memory.

Office in front, warehouse in back

Business park suites often combine offices with warehouse or light assembly space. That mix creates specific network needs. City of Lake Forest requirements

The City states plainly that it does not require a business license. It encourages a voluntary business registration, which puts emergency contact details on file, and offers home-based businesses a Home Occupancy Self-Certification Form.
