Our Story

It started
with a dream.

The Mission-style two-story Five Vines Wine Bar building in San Juan Capistrano at dusk, with red awnings and a wine-bar chalkboard out front.

It all started with a dream. In 2013, a family opened a small wine bar off Camino Capistrano and set out to do one thing well: pour good wine for their neighbors, and make everyone who walked in feel at home.

More than a decade later, that is still exactly what Five Vines is. A family owned and operated neighborhood wine bar, with a hand-selected list of small-lot, family-owned boutique wineries and local craft beer, and a shareable menu that rotates with the seasons.

Travel + Leisure named it one of the Top 25 Wine Bars in the U.S. The regulars just call it their spot. Both feel about right.
